Recruiting: Oxbridge Academy’s Travis Homer sticking with Miami Hurricanes despite struggles

  • 8:00 am Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 by Adam Lichtenstein

Despite the Hurricanes’ 34-23 loss to Cincinnati on Thursday and rumors swirling around head coach Al Golden’s future, Oxbridge Academy’s Travis Homer is still firmly committed to Miami.

“I’m pretty committed,” the running back said Friday.

Homer, a three-star recruit who committed to the Hurricanes on May 31, said he hopes Golden keeps his job. Many Miami fans do not feel the same, and some have even paid for anti-Al Golden banners to fly over the stadium during Hurricanes games.

“I’m just going to keep my prayers up that he doesn’t get fired because I like him a lot,” Homer said Friday.

Former Palm Beach Central and Florida Gators linebacker Jon Bostic was traded to the New England Patriots on Monday.

Bostic, who graduated from Palm Beach Central in 2009, has spent the last two seasons with the Chicago Bears but has not played this season due to an ankle injury he suffered in the preseason.

“I needed to get healthy and I’m pretty much there now,” Bostic told MassLive Tuesday. “Really just taking it day-by-day. Like I said, learning the philosophy here on special teams and on defense.”

Before the Bears took Bostic, a Post Super 11 pick in 2008, in the second round of the [More]
