Football Recruiting Updates

By Jason Lieser

Pahokee wide receiver Antavious Wilson, who committed to Buffalo in April, has enrolled at Marshall University instead and will play for the Thundering Herd this year.

Wilson (6-2, 182 pounds) was Pahokee’s No. 2 receiver, but was overshadowed by Martavious Odoms, who signed with Michigan.

Pahokee coach Blaze Thompson said he has called Buffalo to inform them of Wilson’s change of plans, but the school has not responded.

Palm Beach Central tight end Bevans Robbs was one of nine additional players signed by Western Carolina this month. WCU will use Robbs (6-4, 215 pounds) as a defensive lineman.

As for the Class of 2009, King’s Academy linebacker/tight end Toney Moore received an early scholarship offer from FAU. It is Moore’s second bid, after Syracuse made him an offer last month.

Moore is the Lions’ top player and caught three passes for 39 yards in their sping game win over Suncoast. He is likely to draw offers from bigger schools as the year progresses.
