Glades Day’s Jarrett Swaby commits early to UCF

By Jason Lieser

Jarrett Swaby, a senior who will play wide receiver and defensive back for Glades Day next season, gave his verbal commitment to the University of Central Florida earlier this week.

Swaby recently attended camp at Central Florida and was impressed by every facet of the program, leading him to choose the Knights over offers from Northern Illinois and Florida International.

“I liked the facilities a lot, and I fell in love with the coaching staff,” Swaby said. “They recruited me the hardest.”

Swaby is 6-1, 180 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds.

He was especially excited by the prospect of playing close to home so his family and friends could visit and watch him play.

“It’s a great honor for him,” Glades Day coach Pete Walker said. “And any time you can stay in Florida, it’s a great thing.”
