Dunkley, Dangerfield have trio of favorites

By Jason Lieser

Interest in Royal Palm Beach wide receiver Chris Dunkley has been growing for two years.

Dunkley, only a junior, said he has offers from a long list of programs, but his favorites right now are Florida, Georgia and Florida State. He said Michigan has been recruiting him the the hardest, but the Wolverines have not cracked his top three. Michigan signed Pahokee receiver Martavious Odoms last year, and has at least 12 receivers on the roster with three or more years of eligibility remaining.

Dunkley is tentatively planning to visit Florida State on Saturday for the Wake Forest game.

As a sophomore, Dunkley caught 29 balls for 604 yards and six touchdowns. In Royal Palm’s only game this season, he caught two passes for 97 yards and a score. Dunkley is 5-11, 175 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in the low 4.4s.

Defensive back Jordan Dangerfield has three favorites as well, according to the coaching staff. Dangerfield is considering Louisville, South Florida and FIU. As the season progresses, though, watch for more big-name schools to enter the chase.

Dangerfield is 5-10, 160 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds. He had 10 interceptions as a sophomore, when he made the Post‘s all-area team, and was picked for honorable mention last year.
