Jordan Dangerfield to Hofstra

By Jason Lieser

Royal Palm Beach’s Jordan Dangerfield, one of the area’s top cornerbacks last season, verbally committed to Hofstra.

Dangerfield drew interest from several more prominent programs, including Louisville, but none of them made official offers.

“I had good feelings toward them, but they were playing games,” Dangerfield said of the bigger schools. “They didn’t show me that much interest. They want to see what other people do first.”

Hofstra, meanwhile, sent two different coaches to his home for visits. Dangerfield is set to visit the campus next weekend. He expects to play safety next season.

He said he is “pretty set” on his decision but will reconsider if additional offers arrive before national signing day, Feb. 4. Verbal commitments are non-binding.

Dangerfield’s only other offer was from FIU. Aside from Louisville, he drew interest from Central Florida, South Florida, Syracuse, Colorado State and Tulsa. He was an all-area first team selection in 2008.
