Random signings

By Jason Lieser

This might not be the freshest news, but I don’t know if any of it ever showed up in the newspaper so I want to get it out there.

Two John I. Leonard baseball players recently signed with college programs. Shortstop Aaron Brill will play at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and pitcher Kevin Baumiller is headed to Bloomfield College in N.J.

Trace Lanson-Mauro, a basketball player at Berean Christian, signed with Ave Maria University. Lanson-Mauro was honorable mention all-area last year.

West Boca Raton football coach Willie Dodaro said four of his players have picked up scholarships. DE Charles Homoky and QB/ATH John Baylock signed with Elmhurst (Ill.) College, LB Jeremy Whitney will join the onslaught of local players at Jacksonville University, and K/P Zack Richmond will continue at Averett University in Danville, Va.

Distance runner Joshua Gracia, from Santaluces, signed a full scholarship with Chicago State University.

Park Vista strong safety Wilbert White signed to play for Nichols College.

Nine athletes from Royal Palm Beach were honored at the school yesterday for their college signings. Some of these might be public knowledge already, but if not, here they are:
