De’Joshua Johnson among 400+ U.S. Army All-American nominees

By Jason Lieser

Like meaningless lists? Then read on.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl released its 400 nominees for the 2010 game, including more than 50 candidates from Florida. The only local player listed who is not already invited to one of the main two all-America games is Pahokee wide receiver De’Joshua Johnson.

Thing is, a player does not necessarily need to be on this list to get invited. So while it is certainly a complement to Johnson and the other players on this list, it does not actually mean much as far as his viability for a roster spot. Neither does the omission of any players.

In case you still think this list matters, here’s another fact: Matt Elam is not on it. Elam is already committed to play in the game, but so are several other players and they are listed.

Here are the local players who made the list:

Gerald Christian, LB, Dwyer (committed to U.S. Army game)

Chris Dunkley, WR, Pahokee (committed to Under Armour game)

De’Joshua Johnson, WR, Pahokee

Jeff Luc, LB, Treasure Coast (committed to Under Armour game)
