Pahokee’s De’Joshua Johnson has committed to Florida State, Blue Devils coach Blaze Thompson said Monday.

Johnson added that he had been on several unofficial visits to FSU to see how the coaches interacted with the players and felt the Seminoles were the right fit for him. He said that he is “very confident” that he won’t change his mind.

De’Joshua was being recruited by several schools including Miami and Alabama, which he at point heavily considered. Johnson had 25 catches for 424 yards and eights touchdowns as a junior. He also passed for four touchdowns in leading Pahokee to its third straight state 2B championship.

He is expected to take most of the snaps at quarterback during his upcoming senior season because wide receiver Chris Dunkley transferred from Royal Palm Beach.
