Pahokee’s Antonio Ford says he did not commit to Vanderbilt (but maybe he did)

By Jason Lieser

Multiple sources say Pahokee defensive tackle Antonio Ford has committed to play for Vanderbilt, but Ford is denying it.

Ford (6-3, 265, No. 19 on The Big Board) has many offers from major schools and said he is deciding between Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.

“I’m not leaning either way,” Ford said. “I like Wake Forest and Vanderbilt the same.”

There is good reason to believe he already gave his word to the Commodores, but it is possible he is keeping quiet about his choice in order to keep his options open. A commitment to Vanderbilt, though nonbinding, might close some doors at other programs.

Ford’s teammate, Doral Willis, committed to Minnesota in July but kept it a secret for a month while he continued to weigh other options.
