Palm Beach Post pre-season Top 25

By Jason Lieser

The pre-season rankings mean less this year than they have in a long time because ultimately most of the good teams will have to play each other.

Still, it’s fun to speculate and it’s in the job description.

QB/WR De'Joshua Johnson's Blue Devils are No. 1 (Meghan McCarthy/The Post)

QB/WR De'Joshua Johnson's Blue Devils are No. 1 (Meghan McCarthy/The Post)

Here is The Post‘s pre-season Top 25:

1. Pahokee
2. Dwyer
3. Atlantic
4. Glades Central
5. Jupiter Christian
6. American Heritage
7. Treasure Coast
8. Boca Raton
9. Royal Palm Beach
10. Palm Beach Lakes
11. Seminole Ridge
12. Fort Pierce Westwood
13. South Fork
14. King’s Academy
15. Park Vista
16. West Boca Raton
17. Glades Day
18. Boynton Beach
19. Palm Beach Central
20. Jupiter
21. Clewiston
22. Olympic Heights
23. Fort Pierce Central
24. Palm Beach Gardens
25. Lake Worth

I see a few gaps there. I think there is a small gap after the top two and then a bigger drop-off after No. 4. I think the top four will have the same teams, though possibly in a different order, at the end of the season. It’s hard to foresee any of them losing to teams outside the top four. I also see a little gap following King’s Academy at No. 14. After that point, there are a lot of question marks. When you get into the 20s, the rankings are virtually meaningless because there are only 45 schools in the first place.

Who would you guys rank No. 1? Which team from No. 11 and beyond has the best shot to finish the year in the top 10?
