Glades Central’s Antwon Chisholm switches to Mississippi State

By Jason Lieser

Glades Central coach Jessie Hester said RB/DB Antwon Chisholm has withdrawn his promise to Oklahoma State and now is committed to Mississippi State.

Chisholm is the third BCS-caliber Raider to de-commit in the past two years.

“Hopefully he’s not one of those kids that keeps jumping all over the place,” Hester said. “That’s never good. Hopefully he feels real secure in his decision now.”

He might not. Hester said he fully expects Chisholm (5-8, 165, No. 29 on The Big Board) to continue visiting other schools.

When Chisholm committed to Oklahoma State on Sept. 25, he did not sound very steady in his decision. He said then he was intrigued by MSU coach Dan Mullen’s suggestion that Chisholm could be “the next Percy Harvin.”

Hester is concerned that the de-commitments could affect the perception of his program for future recruits. WR Rantavious Wooten and OL Henry Orelus both dropped commitments to LSU last year and switched to Georgia and Florida State, respectively.

“It can definitely hurt,” Hester said. “I try to explain to the kids that it’s a process. It’s something they need to be thinking out a little better. They jump the gun a lot of times.”
