Under Armour All-American Game moves to Tropicana Field

By Jason Lieser

The drive just got a little bit longer for local players participating in this year’s Under Armour All-American Game.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, the game has been moved from Orlando’s Citrus Bowl to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The event was moved because organizers did not want to stage the game the day after the Capital One Bowl, which is at the Citrus Bowl.

Tropicana Field will be football-ready anyway. It will host the St. Petersburg Bowl on Dec. 19.

The game will be played Jan. 2 and broadcast live on ESPN. The following local athletes have accepted invitations to play: Jupiter K Cody Parkey, Pahokee WR Chris Dunkley, Atlantic WR James Louis, Palm Beach Central OL Shane McDermott, Treasure Coast LB Jeff Luc.
