American Heritage RB James Potts commits to Buffalo

By Jason Lieser

American Heritage running back James Potts, who is also one of the area’s best defensive backs, committed to Buffalo on his official visit last month.

“The atmosphere is there,” Potts said. “It felt like home. I really felt like the style of their offense fits me.”

Buffalo has offered Potts (5-11, 175, No. 23 on The Big Board) a scholarship as a running back.

Potts said he turned down schools like Michigan State, Vanderbilt and Louisville because he felt Buffalo was the best fit for him on and off the field. He said playing in a prominent BCS conference was not a factor in his decision.

“I’m not too concerned with stuff like that,” Potts said. “I just want to be somewhere where I fit.”

He described his commitment to Buffalo as “real solid” and said he does not plan to make other visits at this point.
