DT Antonio Ford is third Pahokee player to pick Wake Forest

By Jason Lieser

Pahokee defensive tackle Antonio Ford said by text message Thursday he is the third Blue Devil (and fourth local player overall) to commit to Wake Forest.

Ford (6-3, 265, No. 19 on The Big Board) chose Wake Forest among several scholarships, including offers from Tennessee, West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

If all three uphold their commitments, Ford will join Pahokee teammates DB Merrill Noel and LB/DE Zachary Allen at Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons also have a commitment from Boca Raton QB Eddie Sullivan.

Ford is the seventh Blue Devil senior to commit to a BCS program this year. WR Chris Dunkley, DL Richard Ash and OL Willie Bowles are candidates to sign with major programs as well.

Ford was rumored to have committed to Vanderbilt before the season began, but denied that.
