Jean announced his commitment to Wisconsin on Friday and said he was about to call the coaches to inform them. He chose the Badgers over several schools. His other finalists were Connecticut and Maryland.

He made his official visit to Madison, Wisc., a month ago.

“I bonded with the players and coaches,” Jean said. “I felt real comfortable and I believe they’re going to take care of me when I get up there.”

He said he will not visit any other programs now that he has committed.

Jean has 22 tackles and five pass break-ups this year, but has missed the Broncos’ past three games with a sprained right knee. He will sit out tonight’s season finale against Spanish River, too.

Jean (5-11, 180, 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, No. 27 on The Big Board) is the second Palm Beach Central player to commit this season, joining offensive lineman Shane McDermott (Miami).

He will join Fort Pierce Westwood defensive back Jameson Wright, who committed to Wisconsin on his visit in September.

With Jean picking Wisconsin, 22 of the area’s top 27 seniors have announced their commitments to college programs.
