Boca Raton pitchers Alex Gonzalez (Oral Roberts) and Nate Carter (Florida Southern), and lacrosse defenseman Christian Harvey (Saint Leo) all signed their Letters of Intent on Thursday.

Gonzalez, a right-handed pitcher, had 54 innings pitched with a 4-3 record and a 1.43 ERA last season.

“I loved the coaches there, and I really loved the school,” Gonzalez said of his decision to sign with Oral Roberts. “Plus Coach (Justin) Timmerman used to coach there, and he was a great help.”

Carter, a lefty, was the Bobcats’ closer, pitching 22 innings with a 4-1 record and a 1.00 ERA. He said he will start as a freshman for the storied Florida Southern program.

“I had a lot of other college offers, and went to other colleges but didn’t feel at home,” Carter said. “At Florida Southern, they won nine National Championships, have all the statistics, and that’s a good thing to walk into.”

Over the past two years, Harvey had 94 ground balls and nine penalty minutes. He made First Team All District in 2008 and 2009, and led the Bobcats to two District Semifinal appearances in 2008 and 2009.
