Live from Lakeland: Lake Worth Christian falls to Warner Christian 3-0

By Post Staff

Lake Worth Christian had another nice lead that Warner Christian overcame to win the game 26-24 and the match 3-0. The Defenders were up 14-7 and the Eagles tied it up at 15. Lake Worth Christian was also up 24-23 but couldn’t close it out.

The Defenders finished the season 25-5.

On a side note, the first game was the highest scoring in the state tournament since Florida made the switch to rally scoring in 2003.

Warner Christian is up 2-0 after winning the second game 25-18. Lake Worth Christian definitely had less energy in this game, but right now the girls are screaming at each other (in a nice way) in the huddle before the start of game three.
Early indications are that we are going to be here for a while…

Warner Christian took the first game 33-31. That’s not a typo. 33-31.

Lake Worth Christian led by five at one point but Warner Christian came back to tie at 15 and from there they tangled until the end of the game, which was tied at 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 before going to extra points for 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31.
The match between Lake Worth Christian and defending state champ Warner Christian is just underway. Check back for updates following each game!
