Few schools interested in Glades Central’s Isiah Corbett

One of the stars of Glades Central’s punishing defense is going relatively unnoticed by college programs.

Defensive end Isiah Corbett, a senior who transferred from Royal Palm Beach prior to the season, is second on the team with seven sacks and fourth with 68 tackles (including eight for a loss).

At this point, though, only four schools have offered Corbett (6-1, 250, 4.9 in the 40-yard dash) a scholarship: Florida International, Marshall, Buffalo and Middle Tennessee State. He thought he had an offer from Boston College, but said he is unsure if that is still in play.

But even the schools that have offered Corbett don’t sound particularly interested. He said he has not gone on any official visits because those schools were not calling to ask him to come.

“I didn’t want to bug them,” Corbett said.

“Whichever school shows me the most love, that’s probably where I’ll go.”

Now that the Raiders (10-0) are beginning the Class 2A state playoffs, Corbett said he does not plan to visit any campuses until after the season.
