Treasure Coast LB Jeff Luc commits to Florida State

By Jason Lieser

The first big splash of Florida State’s post-Bobby Bowden era is the commitment of Treasure Coast linebacker Jeff Luc.

Titans assistant coach Aaron Sheppard, who handles all recruiting matters for the team, said Luc is in Tallahassee and committed to the Seminoles today.

Luc (6-1, 240, No. 2 on The Big Board) listed FSU as one of seven finalists earlier this week.

“It came as a shock when he said he was going to do it,” Sheppard said. “But he made his own decision and said that’s where he wants to be.”

Luc did not return a message left Saturday. Sheppard said Luc will not comment on the commitment until Monday.

Luc is widely considered one of the nation’s top recruits and had been strongly recruited by Florida and Southern California. Gators coach Urban Meyer was on the Treasure Coast sideline during the Titans’ first-round playoff game against Seminole Ridge last month.

Luc plans to graduate early and enroll at college in January.
