Trinity Christian refreshed after tough early schedule

By Post Staff

Trinity Christian made it a point to make its schedule as tough as possible outside of district play and the Warriors got just what they asked for. Trinity is 4-1, with its only loss coming to Plantation American Heritage 53-40 on Friday. But that game was two days after the Warriors beat back-to-back 3A state champion Parkway Academy 61-58.

Coaches Luke McCray and Phil Gray said the girls were pretty beat by the end of the week so they gave them Friday off and the extra rest showed its benefits against Jupiter Monday night when the Trinity turned it on late to put the game away.

“It’s nothing against the rest of the teams we’re playing – we have some big games we’re looking forward to – but our schedule only gets easier from here on out,” Gray said.

Trinity hosts Fort Pierce Central on Dec. 17 and then goes to the Naples Daily News Holiday Shootout. Other than that, there aren’t any games that Trinity should have any trouble with until maybe the MLK Tournament in Orlando in mid-January.
