Pahokee DT Richard Ash switches from West Virginia to Michigan

By Jason Lieser

The Pahokee-to-Michigan pipeline looks like it will continue to flow this year.

Blue Devils defensive tackle Richard Ash said he has de-committed from West Virginia and plans to join three of his former teammates at Michigan.

Ash (6-4, 270, No. 8 on The Big Board) was swayed after visiting Ann Arbor earlier this month.

“I really liked it,” he said. “It was tough leaving West Virginia, though.”

Three ex-Pahokee players currently play for the Wolverines: WR Martavious Odoms, RB Vincent Smith and LB Brandin Hawthorne.

Ash initially committed to West Virginia around Thanksgiving.

The Mountaineers picked up five commitments from this year’s senior class, but lost Ash, and now Dwyer CB/WR Robert Clark appears to be on the market. The other three, American Heritage WR Darius Millines, Pahokee RB/WR Fred Pickett and Glades Central DB Travis Bell, each recently reaffirmed their commitments to West Virginia.
