Dunkley announced his commitment to the Gators during ESPN’s broadcast of the Under Armour All-American Game in St. Petersburg.

Throughout his recruitment, Dunkley indicated the Gators were his top choice, but he strongly considered Alabama, too. Nick Saban and Urban Meyer both made recent trips to Royal Palm Beach to speak with him.

He said he has completed the necessary course work to graduate early and plans to enroll in time to participate in spring practices.

Dunkley (6-0, 177, 4.35, No. 3 on the Big Board) was a dynamic threat for the Blue Devils after transferring from Royal Palm Beach. He was hampered by a left hamstring injury this year, which continues to be an issue and could preclude him from the spring session in Gainesville, but still caught 34 passes for 721 yards and four touchdowns.

The Gators now have three commits from the area’s top 14 prospects. Dunkley will join Dwyer tight end Gerald Christian and cornerback Robert Clark.
