Mackenzie Mulligan commits to Sacred Heart

By Jason Lieser

Pope John Paul II now plans to have at least three players sign on national signing day.

The latest commitment is defensive lineman Mackenzie Mulligan, who is headed to Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

Mulligan (6-1, 223) had 65 tackles and six sacks as a senior for the Eagles. He played defensive end, linebacker and offensive guard last season.

Mulligan’s teammates Joe Grosso (Penn) and James Talerico (Yale) intend to finalize their commitments by signing Wednesday, too.

All commitments are non-binding. No player is locked into a school until he signs a national letter of intent. The first day seniors can sign is Feb. 3, national signing day.
