Marshall adds Justin Haig

By Jason Lieser

Marshall is stocking its depth chart with Palm Beach County talent all over the field. The latest Thundering Herd commit? American Heritage kicker Justin Haig.

Haig said today he pledged to Marshall yesterday during his official visit.

He hit three field goals last season, including a 42-yarder, and sent 40 kickoffs to the end zone for touchbacks.

He was one of three finalists for this year’s Lou Groza Award, honoring the top high school kicker in Palm Beach County.

Haig is Marshall’s fifth confirmed local commitment. Four of those seem solid, but Glades Central safety Travis Bell has wavered and seems to be reconsidering West Virginia.

He is the second kicker to commit, following Jupiter’s Cody Parkey (Auburn).

All commitments are non-binding. No player is locked into a school until he signs a national letter of intent. The first day seniors can sign is Feb. 3, national signing day.
