Jupiter Christian QB Marshyl Rothman signs with Murray State

By Jason Lieser

Marshyl Rothman, one of the area’s top quarterbacks over the past three seasons, said Monday he signed a letter of intent to play for Murray State.

Rothman committed to Cornell in December, but the school pulled its “offer” to admit him after changing coaches.

In his three years as Jupiter Christian’s starter, Rothman won two state championships and helped the Eagles win 32 straight games from 2007 through ’09.

Murray State is a Football Championship Subdivision team (formerly Division I-AA) that plays in the Ohio Valley Conference.

As a senior, Rothman (5-8, 170, No. 46 on The Big Board) threw for 1,740 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also rushed for 547 yards and 15 touchdowns.
