Palm Beach Lakes has good showing at windy Louie Bing Classic

By Post Staff

Severe wind and tornado warnings ended the Louie Bing Classic in Miami one event early over the weekend, and while everyone’s times weren’t necessarily impressive because of the weather, the results were for a few members of Palm Beach Lakes’ track team. Twenty-four girls teams and 28 boys teams from mostly Broward and Dade Counties were represented at the meet.

Albreynia Walker (whom you can read all about in the Post’s girls track preview), won the 100-meter dash (12.15) out of a field of 62, and placed second in the 200 (25.25) behind Miami Southridge senior Ebony Eutsey (25.10).

Walker did not get to race against Miami Jackson phenom sophomore Robin Reynolds, who was out with an injury.

And the duo of Eddie Lovett and Emarkis Gunn appear to be picking up where they left off from last season as both did well in the 110 hurdles. Lovett took first in 14.70 and Gunn was third in 15.14. Neither made the finals of the 300 hurdles.
