Bill D’Addio steps down as Pope John Paul II soccer coach

By Jason Lieser

After five years of leading one of the area’s better girls soccer teams, Bill D’Addio resigned as Pope John Paul II’s coach.

“It’s been a great experience coaching at Pope John Paul II” Bill D’Addio said in a statement released by Team Boca, a club soccer organization where he is involved. “I’ll definitely miss all the players and everyone involved at Pope but I’ll always stay connected with the school and soccer program.”

HIs resignation coincides with the graduation of his daughter, former Eagles midfielder Brittany D’Addio.

D’Addio went 75-22-7 in five seasons and guided the Eagles to the playoffs every year.

Pope John Paul II athletic director Scott Baker will take over as coach, the release said.
