UCF hires former Suncoast coach G. Alan Williams

By Jason Lieser

G. Alan Williams, who coached Suncoast for three seasons, has accepted a defensive graduate assistant position at Central Florida.

Williams, 29, stepped down in January. In 2007, Williams inherited a Suncoast team that had won just two games over the previous two years combined. During his tenure, the Chargers were 9-20-1, including 3-6-1 last season.

He currently works at the school as a math teacher.

Suncoast replaced Williams two weeks ago with former Palm Beach Lakes quarterback Micah Mays. Mays, 30, was an assistant coach for the Rams the past six seasons.
