Park Vista winning streak reaches 10 games, ace Brad Gero on fire

By Post Staff

Park Vista has come a long way since that double header on March 13 when the Cobras struck out 20 times and committed 11 errors against Parkland Douglas and Palm Beach Central. They haven’t lost a game since.

“Things started to come around,” Park Vista coach Larry Greenstein said. “Some of our injured guys came back. I feel like we’re a little stronger down in the lineup than we were at the beginning of the year and I think that’s helped. Guys are battling to put the ball in play, getting the big hit here and there. Through that 10-game winning streak, we’ve had a lot of guys come through. It’s not just one, two, five or six, now it’s seven, eight and nine getting on base so when we get to the top of the order, we can do some things.”

Another big part of the Cobras’ hot streak has been the pitching of ace Brad Gero. The complete-game win over Jupiter Wednesday night was his fifth complete game in a row and his fourth shutout in the last five games.

“I feel like I’m in a zone right now,” Gero said. “Everything feels like it’s working pretty good so I’m just confident.”

Park Vista has one more district game left against Atlantic on Friday.
