By Jason Lieser

Note: Welcome to the PBGametime 2010 Spring Football Tour! During our two-week tour, we visit area teams, meet some of the top players and answer the most pressing questions. Today’s stop is Treasure Coast, where two star cornerbacks lead one of the area’s top defenses.

Treasure Coast graduated so many stars last season — including all three members of the area’s top linebacker corps — but the Titans still return good talent for 2010, especially on defense.
Lamarcus Brutus and Keelin Smith, a pair of seniors who committed to Florida State, are tall and fast and key what might be the area’s No. 1 secondary this fall.

Smith (6-3, 185, No. 4 on The Big Board) already has accepted an invitation to the 2011 Under Armour All-America Game. He had 45 tackles, 16 passes defensed and an interception as a junior.

Brutus (6-0, 180, No. 12 on The Big Board) broke up 14 passes and registered 55 tackles last year.

Treasure Coast’s spring game is Friday, 7 p.m. against Port St. Lucie at South County Stadium.
