Seminole Ridge has been spending the spring trying to shore up its three running back spots. The Hawks plan to use three running backs like last season, when they made the playoffs. But the personnel will be a little different this season.

The only certainty right now is Gary Holmes, who was the fastest of the group, running a 4.4 40-yard dash.

Javian Wrisper was a senior last season, and the workhorse of the trio, Tyler Butler, will be used mostly at linebacker, but will still come in for short-yardage situations.

Seminole Ridge coach Matt Dickmann said players such as Andrew Perkins, Thomas Fragale, and Alex Pierre could step into the vacant roles.

But it’s not all about the running backs with the Hawks. Dickmann also expects a lot out of quarterback Trevor Vanscoy. Vanscoy has a strong arm and Dickmann envisions using a lot of play-action in the Hawks’ offense.

Dickmann is looking to 6-foot-1 Rayfield Dixon to replace outgoing receiver Jeacky Charles.
