Game of the Week: Gardens welcomes Lakes to the Swamp (video)

By Post Staff

Game of the Week is back! To kick off the 2010 season, we’re at Palm Beach Gardens, where the Gators are getting ready to host rival Palm Beach Lakes. Matt Porter previews the action.

Matt’s pick for the game:

“The Gators look to defend their new Swamp after a hard loss to John I. Leonard in their kickoff classic. Lakes replaces every skill player this year, but despite the turnover, there’s plenty of speed and size on the Rams’ roster. The two best examples are wide receiver/cornerback Marquis Williams (very fast) and two-way tackle Lionel Cobb (very tough). Gardens brings a three-pronged rushing attack, with Roshard Burney, Alex Clark and Marcus Scott running behind big linemen Mark Brown and Avery Young, the best player on either team. For the Gators, wide receiver/defensive back Tyrico McGriff is questionable with a rib injury. Gardens is still a little raw, but it should have enough to make for a feel-good homecoming. Palm Beach Gardens 28, Palm Beach Lakes 24.”
