By Matt Porter

Tough news for Palm Beach Lakes, as the Rams’ do-everything senior, Marquis Williams, is out indefinitely with an oblique injury.

Williams, the Rams’ starting quarterback, best safety and No. 1 return threat, will miss this week’s game against Dwyer and may be out for the season.

In Wednesday’s practice, Williams re-aggravated the same external oblique injury that sidelined him for most of his sophomore and junior seasons. He will have an MRI today.

Williams has thrown for 571 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Williams does not have any scholarship offers, but has been in contact with coaches from Central Florida, Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee State, according to his mother, Celeste Wells.

If the Rams lose Friday against Dwyer, they will need to beat Okeechobee Nov. 5 to earn a playoff spot in the three-team District 14-4A.
