Palm Beach County well represented at Miami-Florida State game

By Matt Porter

Several Palm Beach County players stood on the sideline to watch the Hurricanes and Seminoles warm up.

More than 150 recruits, mostly underclassmen, were guests of Miami. Before heading to the stands, they stood on the field, looked around, and tried to envision themselves wearing the ‘U’ on their helmets in a few years.

“Just taking in the atmosphere,” said Jupiter junior quarterback Tyler Cameron, who impressed with his arm at a camp at Florida State over the summer, though he was a guest of Miami. “This is awesome. I can’t wait to see this place full.”

Cameron stood with Seminole Ridge junior running back Gary Holmes, Forest Hill junior cornerback Erron Watson and Dwyer junior lineman Mike Minns.

Also seen on the sidelines before the game: Glades Day’s Kelvin Taylor and J.T. Thornton, Suncoast lineman Jermiah Wilder and another unidentified Suncoast player, and three unidentified players wearing Palm Beach Central shirts (note to readers: sorry — would have ID’d, but had to run back to the press box).

Give Cameron credit if he gets this one right: “I’m bad with the predictions,” he said with a laugh. “I’ll go Miami, 28-21.”
