Picking the best single-game performance of 2010

By Jeff Greer

We know there’s still three weeks of season–and plenty of playoffs–left before we can officially pick a winner. But seeing Jupiter Christian running back Trey Pendergrass’ stat line from Monday night — 3 carries, 211 yards, 2 touchdowns — got us thinking: What was the best single-game performance from the 2010 season?

We’ve come up with a few nominees so far, but we certainly encourage more in the comments section below. As always, keep things courteous and focused on football–let’s not turn this into a bashing session.

Here are a few that we came up with off the top of our heads on Wednesday afternoon. And again, there will (hopefully) be a few more over the next few weeks, and surely we missed a few …

Roderick Johnson (Village Academy): 7 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 2 sacks vs. Champagnat Catholic

Anyway, hopefully that gets the conversation started. Please don’t post, “How on Earth could you forget Player X’s performance?!?!?!” We didn’t forget it. These are just a few we thought of off the cuff. So comment below and tell us some more.

At the end of the year, we’ll pick one for defense and one for offense. This is the kind of stuff that makes football fun.
