By the numbers: Passer ratings for area quarterbacks

By Matt Porter

Though stats never tell the whole story, here’s a look the top-rated passers in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

PrimeComputing‘s NCAA formula and the numbers on our Football stats pages gives us an idea of the most efficient passers in the area. Through games of Nov. 6, Dwyer’s Jacoby Brissett and Jupiter Christian’s Keddy Bostic are rated highest.

The formula calculates a passer rating based off attempts/completions, passing yards, touchdowns and interceptions. Obviously, a high completion percentage, number of passing yards, and positive touchdown/interception ratio will produce a high rating. See the formula here.

If you haven’t dug into our stats pages, give it a go. Click here to see the rushing, passing and receiving leaders among large schools, and click here for small schools leaders. You can also click ‘view all’ on a stat category to see every player’s stats for that category (for example, click here to see large schools rushing leaders).
