Dwyer’s Curt Maggitt out for first round of playoffs, possibly longer

By Matt Porter

Due to an ankle injury suffered Friday night, Dwyer senior defensive end Curt Maggitt could be on the sidelines for Dwyer’s opening playoff game, and a potential second-round game.

Maggitt, the No. 3 player on the Big Board, sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of Dwyer’s 52-0 win over Jupiter Friday night

A team source said he likely will miss Dwyer’s Class 4A regional quarterfinal game this Friday against Ft. Lauderdale-Stranahan, and possibly a regional semifinal game as well.

Maggitt was set to visit Florida State with teammate Nick O’Leary this weekend, but will not make the trip. In other Dwyer recruiting news, quarterback Jacoby Brissett will visit Notre Dame this weekend.
