Suncoast girls soccer coach wins 100th game

By Matt Porter

Friday’s win over Dreyfoos was a milestone for Suncoast coach Terry Robinson.

In a 6-0 win, Robinson, 52, picked up his 100th win as Chargers coach. Since he took over in 2003, the Chargers have appeared in the state tournament six times, including a trip to the state final in 2003.

Robinson, 52, has coached area travel teams for 15 years. He has coached the Royal Palm Beach Strikers program since 2001. He previously coached Palm Beach United and Palm Beach International.

One of Robinson’s travel-team proteges, Suncoast senior Lauren Irurzun-Matias, scored five goals in the win over Dreyfoos. Junior Makeisha Lucien added another.
