Atlantic DT Luther Maddy decommits from Marshall, opens up recruiting

By Jeff Greer

Atlantic’s standout defensive tackle Luther Maddy has decommitted from Marshall and reopened his recruitment. Maddy verbally committed to Marshall in August.

Maddy, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound senior, said Marshall is still in the running for his services, but he just wanted to make sure that he makes the best decision. Because he hasn’t picked up any new offers, Maddy said he isn’t ready to name favorites.

When asked what made him decommit from Marshall, Maddy said, “nothing bad, I just wanted to stay open.”

Maddy (No. 46 on the Big Board) has scholarship offers from Marshall, FAU, FIU and Hampton. Rivals.com lists Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Syracuse and Tennessee State as other interested suitors.
