Dwyer’s Nick O’Leary trims list to four, sets possible commit date

By Matt Porter

Sorry, Badgers fans.

Dwyer’s Nick O’Leary said via text message has narrowed his college choices to four: Alabama, Florida State, LSU and Miami.

Previously, Wisconsin was included in O’Leary’s top five. Ohio State and Georgia were also on O’Leary’s list, but had dropped off the radar. He did not respond to a message asking if Wisconsin, Ohio State and Georgia were completely out of the running.

Also, when asked, O’Leary said Miami’s firing of Randy Shannon has no bearing on his college decision.

Warchant.com, a Yahoo! Rivals Florida State fan site, spoke with O’Leary Friday night before Dwyer’s 45-0 win over Hollywood Hills. In an article, which can be read here (note: subscription needed), O’Leary was also quoted as saying he would announce his decision at the Jan. 8 at the Army All-American game.

O’Leary told The Post he said he may announce his decision then, but he didn’t guarantee he would.

O’Leary and Dwyer quarterback Jacoby Brissett are scheduled to play in the Army game. O’Leary (or both) could announce their choices at the game, and O’Leary’s list of schools could change between now and signing day, Feb. 2.
