Marshall makes a push for Glades Central defensive end Robert Way

By Jeff Greer

Glades Central defensive end Robert Way has scholarship offers from Syracuse, Marshall and Florida Atlantic, among others. But the senior says only one school in particular has been aggressively pursuing him: Marshall.

Way (6-2, 200, No. 8 on the Big Board) can plug in at multiple positions. He’s fast, freakishly athletic and prospects out to play outside linebacker or even safety. He said, right now, Marshall is the leader for his multiple talents and versatility.

Marshall recruiting coordinator (and former Glades Central star/coach) JaJuan Seider visited Glades Central on Thursday and will meet with Way and his mother on Sunday. Way visited Marshall in late October.

“So far, my favorite is Marshall,” Way said. “They call me everyday. They’re showing me that they want me.”

FAU and Buffalo have also been pursuing Way more frequently now that their seasons are over. Central Michigan, FIU and Hampton have also offered Way a scholarship, according to Rivals.com. Meanwhile, the only BCS school to offer Way — Syracuse — doesn’t seem to be too doggedly chasing him.

“They offered me, but the only time I talked to them was the time they offered me,” Way said.

Way said in October that he expected to hear from more schools toward the end of the playoffs. He echoed that sentiment on Friday night.
