Recruiting Big Board updated, expanded to 75 senior prospects

By Jeff Greer

It’s one of the most difficult tasks we have at the Palm Beach Post: ranking the area’s best college prospects. Well, here’s our first postseason shot at ranking the top 75 senior recruits in Palm Beach County and the T Coast.

You can access all the rankings on the Big Board. Players are ranked based on their in-season performance and their prospects as a college-level player.

There were some slight changes to the rankings. Fort Pierce Central defensive end Giorgio Newberry moved up to third and Dwyer quarterback Jacoby Brissett bumped up to fourth. Dwyer tight end Nick O’Leary stayed atop the list, with Glades Central receiver Kelvin Benjamin, Newberry, Brissett and Dwyer defensive end Curt Maggitt rounding out the top five.

Treasure Coast defensive back Lamarcus Brutus climbed into the top 10 at No. 9, and Fort Pierce Westwood defensive tackle Demetrius Anderson moved up seven spots to 10th. Glades Central receiver Davonte Allen jumped six spots to No. 12.

Two of the biggest jumps were Atlantic defensive tackle Luther Maddy, who jumped 14 spots to No. 32, and Glades Day athlete Eaton Spence (up 13 spots) at No. 33.

There are a few new names on the list:

Glades Central: Delbert Clarke (45), Purvis Nixon (53) and Jeffery Philibert (70)

West Boca: Corey King (52)

Olympic Heights: Tavon Jenkins (58)

Dwyer: Shubert Bastien (59) and Daevonte Barnett (71)

Wellington: Austin Peavler (60)

Port St. Lucie: Terell Floyd (69)

Suncoast: Jeff Fulwood (72)

Palm Beach Central: Brandon De La Cruz (73)
