Hunter visited the school’s Northern Ohio campus on Sunday and four days later, he decided to commit to the Falcons.

“I had a great relationship with the coaches,” Hunter said. “They’re giving me a chance to go up there and compete for a starting spot, and when I went up on my visit they treated me like family.”

The best player in a secondary that allowed an average of 99 passing yards per game, Hunter did not allow a receiver he covered to score a touchdown in his junior and senior seasons.

The Panthers’ defense allowed an average of 5.9 points per game in that time.

Hunter (5-11, 175, No. 17 on the Big Board) also caught 31 passes for 589 yards and nine touchdowns.

He is the only Palm Beach County player on the Falcons’ commitment list. There are no area players on the roster. He also had offers from Buffalo, Cincinnati, Marshall, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.

Verbal commitments are non-binding, and players can sign official letters of intent on national signing day, Feb. 2.
