If Virginia Tech upsets Stanford in tonight’s Orange Bowl (8:30 p.m., ESPN), chances are it will come in part to a big play from the Hokies’ sophomore cornerback.

Hosley led the nation in interceptions this season with eight, and also broke up seven passes. He was named a Walter Camp first-team All-America, a second-team Associated Press All-America and a first-team All-ACC selection.

For more on Hosley, check out this story that ran in the Palm Beach Post this week.

Hosley is the latest former Atlantic star to make an impact in Blacksburg, following former Eagles cornerback Brandon Flowers, who now plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and receiver David Clowney (New York Jets). Quarterback Mark Leal, a Feb. 2010 signee, practices with the Hokies but has not played.
