Baseball: Port St. Lucie alumni game, featuring Rick Ankiel, set for Feb. 5

The third annual Port St. Lucie High baseball alumni game will be held on Feb 5 at the high school.

Several current and former professional baseball players including former St. Louis Cardinals and current Washington Nationals outfielder Rick Ankiel, Jon Coutlangus, Brett Moorehouse, Damon Krestalude, Andrew Durden, Brian Foster, Chad Durick and Mike McPadden will be in attendance.

Many coaches are slated to be there, including John Cartee, the Jaguars’ first baseball coach, John Messina, Tony Malizia, Johnnie Rhoden, John Erickson, John Picchiarini, Mike Kendziorski, Joe Scott, Mark Cowles and Tom Alore.

Gates will open at 11 a.m., followed by a home run derby at noon and a 2 p.m. first pitch for the alumni game.

The cost to participate is $25 which includes a commemorative shirt and lunch. Tickets to the game are free. For more information, contact Tony Malizia at 772-337-6781.
