Group announces new boys’ high school basketball All-American event

By Jeff Greer

The group behind college basketball events like the 2K Sports Classic, the CBE Classic and the College Basketball Invitational has taken a step into the realm of high school hoops.

The New Jersey-based Gazelle Group announced the creation of the All-American Championship, a boys’ high school basketball invitational that will feature juniors and seniors on four regional teams. The games will be played over the same weekend as the Final Four (April 1-3) at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center in Aldine, Texas.

High school juniors and seniors can register for consideration on the All-American Championship’s website. Each team will be coached by a head coach of a nationally prominent high school program, the release says.

The tournament will not count toward the NCAA limitation of two all-star contests per senior student-athlete.
