American Heritage WR Herve Coby commits to Bowling Green

By Jeff Greer

American Heritage receiver Herve Coby is headed to Ohio.

Coby (6-1, 160, No. 15 on the Big Board) picked Bowling Green over West Virginia and Michigan State. The senior wideout had a productive visit at Bowling Green over Jan. 14-15 and committed shortly after. This week, he decided to stick to his post-visit commitment and not visit West Virginia the final weekend before National Signing Day on Feb. 2.

“They’ve been after him since Day One,” Socha said. “He fits their offense perfectly. They treated him like family.”

The decision came as a bit of a surprise after Coby recently said West Virginia would be the school to sign him on National Signing Day. But recent developments with West Virginia’s recruiting class prompted Coby to reconsider.

There was no doubt when he visited Bowling Green

“I’m gonna be a Falcon,” Coby said Saturday night.

Coby was a no-brainer Palm Beach Post All-Area First Team selection. He had 509 yards receiving and five touchdowns for the Stallions, who lost in the Class 1A state title game.
