West Boca’s Mauro Bondi (Nebraska), Corey King (FIU) give verbal commitments

By Matt Porter

Two West Boca Raton standouts announced their intentions to play at Division 1 schools.

Bulls lineman Corey King, a first-team Palm Beach Post All-Area selection, committed to Florida International. The 6-foot-2, 265-pound King (No. 52 on the Big Board) was dominant on the edge in West Boca’s playoff run. He joins Palm Beach County products Max Martial (Palm Beach Central) and Ezekiel Turner (Atlantic) in the Golden Panthers’ incoming class.

Kicker Mauro Bondi, a finalist for the Lou Groza High School Place-Kicker of the Year award, committed to Nebraska after visiting the school’s Lincoln, Neb. campus over the weekend. Bondi (6-1, 190, No. 54 on the Big Board) was a second-team All-Area selection.
