Dwyer TE Nick O’Leary signs with Florida State

By Matt Porter

Just before 8:30 a.m. on signing day, Florida State received a letter of intent from the nation’s top tight end, Dwyer’s Nick O’Leary.

Dwyer linemen Shubert Bastien (Middle Tennessee State) and Keith Bowers (Maryland) also sent in their letters.

Defensive end Curt Maggitt (Tennessee), receiver Tommylee Lewis (Northern Illinois), cornerback Darrell Hunter (Bowling Green) and linebacker Jimelle James (Alabama A&M) are expected to sign letters of intent this morning, making it the largest football signing class in school history, with eight players.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett will choose between Miami, Florida, Wisconsin and Washington. He is expected to announce his decision at Friday night’s Dwyer basketball game.

He was at Dwyer’s signing day ceremony an hour before its 11 a.m. start, but it was only to help set up the festivities. When asked if he would surprise and sign a letter of intent, he smiled and said no. He said he would “probably” announce his commitment at Friday’s basketball game.
