Saturday, 10 days after signing day, two-way lineman Daevonte Barnett signed with Wagner College, the Staten Island, N.Y. school that now has several Palm Beach County players on campus.

Barnett (6-4, 255, No. 71 on the Big Board) becomes the ninth Dwyer player from this senior class to sign a football scholarship. Linebacker Leroy Kelson and running back Shawn McClaine have yet to sign. Tight end Ben Hall is a Division II-III possibility.

Barnett was sometimes overlooked playing on an at-times-dominant Dwyer team, but showed well in the annual Palm Beach County/Treasure Coast all-star game, posting four tackles for a loss, including a sack.

Wagner, an FCS (Div. I-AA) school, also has three Jupiter Christian alums on campus. Senior Josh Talbott signed with the Seahawks on signing day, and 2009 graduates Marshyl Rothman and Mike Lombardo recently transferred.
